    Green Infrastructure Stormwater Management Techniques

    2019.09.20

30 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043

30 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043

With the expanding regulatory push to decrease stormwater volume and improve stormwater quality, increasing attention is being given to the use of green infrastructure stormwater management techniques.  While growing popular, these techniques are often misapplied, improperly designed or inadequately maintained.  This innovative one-day class will explore those techniques being implemented on an increasingly frequent basis throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.  The focus of this program deals with the proper selection, design, implementation and maintenance of green infrastructure techniques commonly used in urban and suburban settings. Multiple site examples will be provided.

Additionally, with the interest of DEP in sustainable remediation, the impacts of capping contaminated sites may be mitigated by the innovative approaches discussed in this course. Therefore, LSRPs are encouraged to attend this program as they should be aware of the alternatives to “hard caps” in reducing stormwater runoff.

Changes to NJ Cleanup Laws — What You Need to Know

    2019.09.27

30 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043

30 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043

On August 23, Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation amending the Site Remediation Reform Act, or SRRA, as it is better known.  These amendments represent the first major changes to New Jersey’s landmark cleanup law, which was originally enacted in 2009, forever changing how New Jersey handles contaminated sites.  This session will cover those amendments and what they mean to cleanups moving forward.  Whether you are a licensed site remediation professional, an attorney representing clients on a cleanup, or a developer or responsible party on the front line overseeing a cleanup, this is an event that cannot be missed.  As an added bonus, the session will cover other changes on the horizon which could further impact New Jersey’s site remediation.  Special event a collaboration of CIANJ, Montclair State University and CPES.
