The Essentials of Hazardous Materials Management (EHMM) course was created for the specific educational needs of environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) professionals. The course helps those new to the profession quickly build a solid foundation for their career in EHS&S while serving more seasoned professionals as a comprehensive refresher course that can also bring them up to speed on new areas that may have been added to their job responsibilities. The EHMM course is also a great tool to prepare for the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager® (CHMM®) designation examination.
You can register for individual days or for the complete 4 day program. It is strongly recommended (but not required) that you complete the full four-day program. Not only will you receive the CEC credit for the complete training, but you will also gain a full and complete understanding of the essential of hazardous materials management. Furthermore, each course day is designed to build on the knowledge gained in previous class sessions, helping you maximize the opportunity to learn all aspects and or updates in EHS&S .

This course will assist in identifying factors that influence the appropriate drilling technology for selection by the environmental professional performing various groundwater and/or soil investigations. The course will discuss the various site conditions that are likely to be encountered in the NE region of the United States and the special considerations that must be considered for drilling technology selection. LSRPs and legal experts will present an overview of the LSRP rules (N.J.A.C. 7:26I Regulations) that were adopted and became effective Jan. 4, 2016. http://www.nj.gov/lsrpboard/board/rules This half-day course is designed to update LSRPs on the new rules and help advance their ability to apply the rule changes in the performance, supervision or coordination of site remediation in NJ. A factual compliant case study will be presented. Review of Decisions posted on the board’s website will be explored. Key findings that resulted in the penalty will be identified. LSRPs will be guided through the process to see how and what the Board does to come to a decision.

Environmental Statistics for LSRPs
The use of statistical analysis to evaluate environmental data may be necessary to comply with regulations or for application of technical guidance. The use of statistics may also hold the key to unlocking important information that is otherwise hidden in a set of data. However, identifying appropriate statistical tests and knowing how to apply them can be perplexing, and reviewing statistical data analysis completed by others can be just as challenging.
This program will present statistical concepts and assumptions, review common statistical tests required in regulations and guidance, and address various scenarios that may benefit from and/or require statistical analysis of data. The program will address typical challenges working with environmental data (e.g., non-detects, non-normal distributions, outliers) and include review of statistical analysis case studies used for remedial investigation and remedial action under NJDEP SRP regulations and guidance documents. A hands-on workshop session will allow attendees to work with data using programs such as USEPA ProUCL (individuals or groups). Use of personal computers with Microsoft Excel and Wi-Fi capability for downloading USEPA freeware is encouraged for participation in portions of this course. Techniques for working with large data sets and reviewing statistical evaluation provided by others will also be covered.

If you are becoming UST certified for the first time or if your certification is in need of renewal, this class is for you! Stay current with New Jersey’s UST regulatory requirements and help your company and clients avoid costly penalties and fines.
The New Jersey Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations (NJAC 7:14B Subchapter 13 & 16) require that all personnel who install, close, test, and design corrosion protection systems for regulated USTs be certified as well as those subsurface evaluators (SSE) who perform services on unregulated USTs (UHOT). All owners/operators of regulated USTs who are persons responsible for remediation must retain the services of a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) as of May 7, 2012.
The NJDEP requires professionals who work on USTs to be trained, certified/recertified every three (3) years. This NJDEP approved course fulfills the NJDEP course requirement for regulatory training and must be taken within one year prior to renewal. Professional engineers and plumbing contractors, exempt from the certification examination, must attend the course within one year of certification.
